Here we have a rather superb 5" gauge LNER B2 'Footballer Class' number 61639 Nowrich City. Built by a very capable model engineer ostensibly too the Breeze drawings, but altered where necessary to be more prototypically accurate for the 7 B2s (including Nowrich City) that ran with the ex NER tenders. The backhead has also been tweaked from the Breeze design to include things like the correct central regulator rather than the pull reverser as well as other features like the Gresham & Craven backhead clacks that all come together to give the loco a nicely accurate feel.
The boiler is of course silver soldered copper and comes fully hydraulically tested and with fresh steam tests. Water is from a pair of injectors as well as a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and under the front running board. It's a fairly new model as you can tell from the photos having seen relatively little running, so mechanically everything is still very tight and clean. All in all a really lovely example of a rare and good looking prototype.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
